About Creative Side Structures
Creative Side Structures are a Chartered Structural and Civil Engineering Consultancy based in Brighton, East Sussex. We operate in a wide area, covering the South East, Surrey, Kent, London, the South Coast and South West as well as several projects in and around the home counties.
The company was born out of the desire to offer clients, the design team and ultimately the project maximum value by bringing ideas, creativity, practicality and experience to an array of challenges and design decisions.
With over a decade of Engineering experience spanning many different type of projects, clients, sectors and materials, we are confident we can add value to your project.
Our Director, Philip Wainwright graduated from the University of Leeds in 2010 with a Masters degree in Architectural Engineering. Since then he has worked in London for six years for a national Engineering consultancy, which involved overseeing the design on many multi-million pound and high profile projects before reluctantly switching companies to ease his commute by working closer to his new family home in East Sussex. This later role saw him develop a wealth of experience in the residential and commercial sectors, comprising traditional, historical and bespoke new build, extension and refurbishment projects. Typical projects included new piled basement below three and four storey high end residential developments with award winning Architects. He also amassed a wealth of knowledge in writing site and building reports which saw him become the main Engineer on several Network Rail scheme.
Philip undertook and successfully satisfied the rigorous Institution of Structural Engineers (IStructE) Chartership exam and interview in 2018 and was formally elected as a Chartered member in 2019.
Philip brings a unique engineering approach to the design team that knits considerable experience with practical and creative solutions as well as an approachable and transparent manner, which we believe adds value to a project.
